Magnets - Terminators

Hiya,

The other day I encountered a scenario where I wanted all LC termies, then later on I fancied another game with my TH/SS termies. So Should I buy extra terminators for all scenarios?
No.... If you remember my post before - Magnets!!!!

So since I save money by getting AoBR terminators then modding them into what I want, I decided to save more money by getting the few bits and magnetising arms!

I magnetised:
7 Storm Bolters
1 Flamer
5 Power Fists
2 Chain Fists
1 Power Sword
2 Sets of Lightening Claws

Suited up and feeling very positive ^.^

I've done it to enable an all standard squad, flamer, lc, all sorts.. it gives me to room to experiment with WYSIWYG!

Arrrrgh my arms!

It was easily done.
Being the AoBR termies they already had nice little holes, I just got my pinvice and drilled the holes bigger, and slotted the magnets in with a bit of super glue.
I then cut the nib off the termies torso and pin viced the torso repeating the process..

Close up of the magent.

So, I can now field a nice vast supply of terminators.. I only stopped as I ran out!

Better quality Land Raider pictures coming up!

Hiya

So I have a little time today, so a brief update.
Magnets!!!

Predator

Predator "Aura" - Autocannon and Lascannons.

So I glued the majority of the tank together, I however put magnets in the side hatches, to allow a rhino/predator conversion within seconds.

I have future plans to magnetise the lascannons construction to allow me to adjust it from heavy bolters to lascannons quickly. However, thats for next time ;)

Pop!

Replaced top and you can see the magnet placements.

Hmmm, thats one tasty rhino:

Rhino

Landspeeder
I also took my landspeeder and decided to give it real adaptability, I remade the gunners weapon placement and added a magnet.

I then drilled a hole in the weapons and placed a magnets inside each one.

Magnetised Melta

Magnetised Bolter
Close up on magnet and you can see I drilled a hole to make
the attachment look natural, and the magnets hidden.

As you can see, effective, simple and very easy.
So what shall I use today... HB or Melta? :D

Magnets and updates

Magnets

So my gf sneakily ordered some magnets for me and they arrived this morning. I've had a simple childlike play with them and they are powerful!
I got them from guysmagnets.com and they got here the day after order, and kept her updated. Very chuffed.

So my plans for my two sets of magnets are to magnetise:
  • My tank so I can change it from predator to rhino and have it as a sturdy model on the table.
  • My Landspeeders so they can be removed from the flying bases.
  • My Dreadnought arms.
  • My HQ terminator weapons.
Camera
My sibling, Berkana, has offered me a camera to borrow. So next week, commencing Monday blogs with pictures will be forthcoming with consistancy. I have a lot to update on. On that note I shall not magnetize my tank yet, so I can record and share those steps with you.
Thanks Berkana!

Projects
Upcoming projects I plan to do, bar the magnetising are:
  • Belial, a terminator modification.
  • AoBR Dreadnought MM arm to various weapons.
  • AoBR Dreadnought to look more... dark angel.
  • Powerplant Terrain.
  • A diorama of some kind, which will be my objective markers. (did I use that grammer correctly?).
  • Plasticard drop-pod.

So yeah, updates soon.
Thanks to everyone so far following my adventure into the warhammer world. I feel I will be here a long time.

Cheers
F
